Products that help with adhesion:

There are a few products that I have worked with and a number of my patients have worked with that help with CGM’s and insulin pumps. Here is a list and a description of when and why you would want to use these.

Skin Tac Wipe - You can use Skin Tac to create a barrier and help your devices stick better. So, for a pump simply take the wipe and coat the skin here you are applying your infusion set or pod, let is dry a bit and then place pod or infusion set on top on top. For CGM’s I will paint what looks like a race track or doughnut so that the space where the CGM is going through the skin does not come into contact with the skin tac, if you are wearing a Dexcom G6 I then paint over the top of the tape to secure it further.

Not Just A Patch - This is a patch that covers the Dexcom G6 completely. I highly recommend this for children and anyone wo plays contact sports.

Simpatch - This is an over tape. With this tape it simply covers the outer tape of the Dexcom G6. You will put your G6 on like normal, this tape has a cut out for the transmitter so you will simply place this patch tape over your G6 to reinforce the tape that is already on the G6. these patches come in several different colors.

Lexcam Dexcom G6- Precut patch tape that is clear, it goes on like tegaderm tape and covers the Dexcom G6 tape to reinforce it.

Honyou Dexcom G6- Precut patch tape that is clear, it goes on like tegaderm tape and covers the Dexcom G6 tape to reinforce it. Honyou is a little cheaper than Lexical. Both are good products and bother are worth a try if you are having problems with keeping your Dexcom on or going to be in water for long periods of time or in hotter climates.

Lexcam Dexcom G7 - Precut clear adhesive patches for the Dexcom G7

Skin Grip Adhesive Patches - These are clear patches that cover the entire Dexcom G7 sensor, they say it has a 10-15 day wear, these are clear.

Simpatch for Omnipod - This is a patch tape and a cover! For people who wear the Omnipod and participate in contact sports or for kids. This covers the outside tape of the pod to reinforce it and has tape that goes over the pod to keep it in place.

Lexcam For Omnipod - This is an over tape with a cut out for the Omnipod. is is cleat and is like a tegaderm.
